The UK is prepared to move forward with utilizing the total value of frozen Russian assets to bolster Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

UK restrictions have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's funds since Russia began its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, money provided to Ukraine using Russian funds had exclusively been taken from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their desire to push forward toward using the complete amount of the seized Moscow's national assets to conclude the conflict.

He stated that additional sanctions over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This declaration comes after European representatives met in the Danish capital recently to debate utilizing seized Russian funds for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, American leader Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to confiscate or utilize seized Russia's funds, based on media sources.

The total of seized Russian holdings in the European Union is calculated to be almost €211bn.

Russia launched large-scale missile and drone strikes across the Ukrainian territory on that day, resulting in blackouts in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, the city, and several other zones.

Two people were killed and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the attack, Ukrainian officials stated.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the strike, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack targeted civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What is required is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the America, the European Union, and the seven nations - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and implementing sanctions," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision weakens Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the PURL programme, under which partner nations acquire weapons from the America to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the system, as well as apply more restrictions on Moscow.
